Where I live my HD2 is constantly struggling to hold a signal. It goes between 1-3 bars 3G most of the day. Mostly hanging around 1 bar and sometimes dropping signal altogether [...]

I am now a proud owner of a Telstra HD2. This is the only way to get ATT 3G on the HD2.

If you try to put a ATT SIM card into a Tmobile HD2 it’s going to ask you for an unlock code. Where do you get that? You could call Tmobile and demand it and they’ll usually give it to you within a few days.  Or you could pay and have it within an hour [...]

Telstra in Australia uses the 850 3G band as well as ATT. But not the 1900 band. So it’s possible to purchase a Telstra version and use it on ATT 850 3G. It is said that ATT is trying to migrate it’s entire network to 850 eventually.
